What is an appropriate gift for a college dude's graduation?

I will be attending graduation at Western KY University on Friday and Saturday. One dude is a graduate, and the other one is an undergraduate--they will probably both end up playing pro basketball, either here in the states or overseas. What is a nice and appropriate and affordable gift to give them--money seeems so unappealing to me as a gift. 10 points for the best answer in four hours!

Well, money always works really...but if they're going to the NBA, they probably won't need it...*L*...





Depends on what they like...Could always get them some music CD of some group they like...More formal would be I dunno...A tie, some formal wear-a shirt or something.
Reply:I know that you say money is not appealing to you, but I can tell you as someone who graduates in four days, money is THE best thing we can all hope to receive. Whether we are starting graduate school or moving on to bigger and better things, it all costs money and college isn't really the time to save...we have loans, debts, and very small bank accounts. I know that all my friends and I are looking forward to graduation for the checks....which sounds terrible but hey...graduation is a time for presents.

you could buy them a t-shirt and have a special message written to them. but do two of each saying( choice of words) so they have one to wear time to time and another to put in keep sake box.

buy them a basketball so they can pratice at a local park with basketball net.
Reply:Well, since they have to shower after games and practices, a nice toiletry bag would be a nice gesture. They would definitively use it, so a gift like that has lots of utility.
Reply:you could give them a gift card to their favorite restaurant. you also can get them an ipod for their entertainment. I would give them a card with a a gift card inside for their favorite store.
