What is good gift for expectant mother?

I would like to get a gift for someone who recently found out they are going to have a baby. What's a great gift to get?

What is good gift for expectant mother?
I agree with the restaurant gift certificate...I always want to go out to eat...however...lately I have been reeeeally wishing I had a bella band...I'm 20 weeks pregnant and I'm too big for my normal clothes but not big enough for maternity...these things seem to be heaven sent and I am planning on sending away for one very soon...if you're not sure what it is then I will try to explain...it's kind of like a spandex tube top for your hips...it covers the tops of your pre-pregnancy pants so you don't have to zip or button them up...and as far as I am concerned...that is a huuuuge life saver!...cus maternity clothes can be so darn expensive!...good luck in finding a gift!
Reply:A day at the spa... get a cheap package of like $100-$150 so when she starts getting bigger and much more tired she can relax and get a message, mani/pedi, facial, etc.... very relaxing and she would love you for it!
Reply:Diapers are always appreciated. But if they just found out they are pregnant, something cute would be awesome. Like a gender neutral outfit. That's the kind of stuff you get excited about in the beginning. Right before they have the baby, diapers are always cool and they want to stock up. But in the first month, parents are looking at the cute baby stuff.
Reply:Spa package or a chance to get a professional massage. Doesn't have to cost a lot. She may not need it right away but even as soon as a few weeks from now and more as the pregnancy continues it will be wanted more than anything.
Reply:Gift certificate to a nice resturant. They will not be able to enjoy a nice evening out after kiddo is born without worrying etc etc about kiddo.
Reply:A couple of deluxe pedicure vouchers for later in the pregnancy! She will think you are the best friend ever when her swolen, throbbing feet are getting some much needed love! (2 because she will want to get one done straight away! Then one for when she knows she really needs it!)
Reply:Love it diaper ideas! It's true u can't ever have to many of those...another idea is the book What to Expect When You're Expecting...it's a awesome book and covers everything from beginning to end. Here's something that my sis got from a friend of her's when she was preggo..it was a gift cert to go and have pedicures and manicures done together about a week before the due date. It was awesome she said cause by that time u feel huge and unattractive but wanna look good when u go into labor. Hope these help!
Reply:I agree diapers.... what a gift :)
Reply:check this link out for a really great gift to give an expectant mom. It has stuff she can really use when the baby comes.

If you want more novelty type baby gifts click the BABY link on the right navigation and select baby gift sets for more ideas :)
Reply:i dont know what its called but its this monitor that let you hear the babies heartbeat as soon as it gets it. you can get it from babies r us
Reply:a baby sitter (cause she's gonna need some time OFF)
Reply:Some magazines or pregnency books. Maybe ones she can fill out or ones she can read daily as she goes through her pregnancy. They will keep her up to date with her baby and his/her growing.

www.ivillage.com offers a great page of fun facts etc
Reply:Diapers! Seriously! You can never have too many and they get expensive! Everyone else is just going to get her clothes which the baby will grow out of soon.
Reply:Diapers!!

Not very snazzy, I know, but very much needed. If it's a baby shower ask each guest to bring a bag of them then make a giant pyramid!

Other than that, ask the mom. There are always one or two little things we find out we need and just never got out to get!
Reply:You could get her a nice comfy gown and some cozy slippers. You may even get her some aromatherapy candles for when she gets her few minutes of relaxation in a warm tub. Gift certificates are always nice. I personally think that you should offer to keep the baby if she'd like to join some yoga classes or pilates to get back her girlish figure. Any nice gesture would surely be appreciated, as long as you give it from the heart.
Reply:I have 3 children, and 13 God children *grin*. I have found the BEST gift to give is a gift certificate to a cleaning service! Like Merry Maids. Make sure it has at least a one year experation date on it. Sometimes I add on a gift cert for a pedicure and a note saying I will babysit...than the new mom can get out for a bit, come home to a clean house and all pampered! New mom's are SO tired, this really helps!
Reply:Subscription to a parenting magazine.
Reply:one thing that i wish i had gotten for my baby that i didn't get (hes 2 months old now) was a bumbo!!! i ended up going out and buying one with my husband..but they are about 40 dollars! Expensive gifts are GREAT to get as gifts because...once that baby comes...they won't have the extra money to spend because of diapers, wipes, and formula. But i LOVE my bumbo and so does my baby. he spends most of his time in it because it lets him look around and it has strengthened his muscles greatly!!!

Either that or bottles!!! haha those things break the bank im tellin ya...and they get dirty quick with a new baby. i find myself washing them 2 or 3 times a day because we don't have enough. the infant gift sets are GREAT gifts because they come with 2 different size bottles so they grow with baby. i reccomend either the playtex drop ins bottles or the new wide mouth vent aire bottles....they are both GREAT!
Reply:Diapers, can never have to many of those.
