How do people manage to stay cheerful and optimistic all day? Is it an innate gift?

I am one of these people who finds that bouncing back to being happy and cheerful after a scolding or a bad situation more productive than being sulky and grouchy.

I do not understand why people just can't move on? Why do they have to throw a tantrum? Are there any scientific results proven of such a 'condition' or is it a gift God had bestowed upon us?

How do people manage to stay cheerful and optimistic all day? Is it an innate gift?
The older I get the more content I am with my life. Everything is Mind, EVERYTHING is Psychological. If you understand this statement, you'll learn to be happy too. If you concentrate on the negative things in life, you'll attract negativity to yourself. The opposite is also true.

The gift that you're inquiring about is called "common sense". Everyone has it (to some degree) but most don't know how to use it to our advantage.

Yes it's childish to throw tantrums when things don't go your way. By the same token, children can find joy in building sand castles or just playing in dirt. When we become adult(like) we tend to forget how much fun life can be because we only notice what we don't have. Think about this:

We come into this world with NOTHING and we leave with nothing. EVERYTHING in between is ours.
Reply:Great question. Can't wait to hear the answers on this one. I am one of those people that can't things go. I know its bad for me and only makes me stressful, but I would love to change.
Reply:As we grow, we are conditioning ourselves. For some its a way of getting attention, for what ever reason. Maybe its a way to keep from thinking about the things in their own life that could/would make them happy, but then are to afraid of getting hurt or disappointed (again), which in turn makes them angry, sad or ?. Wow, look at that, were right back where we started. Get out and socialize with someone new, even if its at the post office, a simple comment about the junk mail. Its time to find the more positive place of mind.
Reply:It depends on the individual. If they think the world revolves around them, they will waste an awful lot of energy blaming everyone else for their woes. As we mature, hopefully, we come to see the futility in it all. If a person or situation upsets me, I need to look at myself and my attitude. It's better to test ones perceptions than to treat assumptions as fact. I don't know if there is any physiological or spiritual cause and effect, all I know is that some people are willing to live and let live and some aren't. I guess they never learned about the Golden Rule. What a shame.
Reply:Well it takes a lot of work if your not raise that way to brush stuff off it's the focus of the event the fact that one human must relive that experance over and over and over so they can feel that emotion again and again!

Sence they never really are happy with them self they don't feel the joy, happiness, and the good stuff! so they will take what ever emotion they can to feel alive! sad i use to do this!

I use to hate everything and bla bla bla! but when you let it brush off WOW YOU FEEL FREE! and more alive then ever!

oh i notice most people who feel this way are also selfish they feel that eveyone thinks like them there for when someone says somethign they could take it the wrong way because they wouldn't say that because they think it is mean! one way thougth pattern and not everyone thinks like they do but they dont' see that! so yeah if i didn't lose you on that last part!

rock on!
