What's a good Christmas gift for an artistic 10 year old girl?

I want to get my creative daughter something artistic to work on for a gift. She doesn't like paint or color, she just likes line art with a black pen on white paper. So art kits are usually wasted on her.

What's a good Christmas gift for an artistic 10 year old girl?
Dick Blick on line art store - browse it to see what catches your eye. There are "scratch boards" that do the reverse of ink drawing - you cover them in ink and scratch the lines out showing the white. Charcoal pencils and rubbers with the special paper that goes with it.
Reply:A gift certificate could be an option. Take her to the nearest art store and let her pick out what she would use. She may be young , but she may know what she would prefer. And If she's not sure you can always ask someone that works there.:)
Reply:try some nice pens and sketch paper.
Reply:sketch pad

black and white charcoal pencils are pretty cool for drawing, too.
Reply:Yes, some art pads (the really smooth papers for pen and ink) and a bunch of black pens with different thickness of lines. Ultra fine, fine, medium and thick. Our art store has individual pens for $1.99 each, waterproof ink in them too, and I stock up on these all the time.

The Pilot Ultra Fine is very good, about $2.25

The main art pens I get are gray pens - Itoya brand from Japan called Finepoint System, for $1.95 each. They come in .2 .4 and .6 These were what i used to draw the Ferret Tarot (you can check google.com, I don't think they'll let me put a URL on for that, but you can see the lines I used with these pens). The paper dolls on my site were also done with these pens.

I also use a gray color pen called a Uni-ball Vision Fine, I think that was under $2 too.

All the inks are dark black, they don't clog like technical pens, and they don't run out of ink fast like the Micron pens.
Reply:Get her something that would be useful like if you can find a drawing pad then get that and also try to find some drawing pencils they do have certain ones out there if you could find a kit of shading pencils that would be perfect!!! hope I helped
Reply:You should try Hawkin's Bazaar for original gifts. I've gotten so many brilliant things from them, both for adults and children.
Reply:A Manson cd, deffinately creative... she'll love it, I know I did. only I bought it myself... but my mom likes Marilyn Manson so it's all good.
Reply:This seems fairly obvious. Get her pads of drawing quality paper and some black art drawing pens at your local art store. Perhaps an instruction book or two of her favorite subjects. The pens come in varoius widths and your art store will have a huge supply of both paper and pens. Dick Blick is a good source art store resource.
Reply:a painting kit with Crayons, and printed drawing book.
Reply:How about charcoal pencils? If she's not into color, she can explore all the grays that exist between black and white. Or just load her up with lots of cool pens, like maybe get her a fountain pen and some nice paper.
Reply:a pencil
Reply:sketch books and (erasers!) and different shades and types and styles of pencils. and pens... im like that too. i dont color any of my stuff. ask her.
