What are some inexpensive holiday gift ideas for teachers?

I have four children and would like to give an inexpensive gift to all of their teachers. Grade 5, grade 3, and grade 1 as well as an infant in a daycare. I want to give them all a gift that shows appreciation for what tthey do but with out breaking the bank. Any suggestions?

What are some inexpensive holiday gift ideas for teachers?
Everyone in my immediate family, except me, is a teacher. They say that they really appreciate donations for their classroom (supplies, stickers, nice note paper) since they usually end up paying for these things out of their own pockets. If you package it up really nice, I think it makes a great gift. Gift certificates are great as well (for a nearby coffee place or a teacher supply store.) Chocolates and coffee make great gifts, too.

Whatever you do, don't give them mugs or Christmas ornaments. These are given to teachers by the dozen, are usually pretty cheesy, and end up in a box somewhere, stored away.
Reply:I taught school for many years. To show appreciation, sit down with your child and write a note which explains why that teacher is important, special, thoughtful, etc. Have the child tell you, organize the answer with these specifics, and have the child sign or make a small picture. If you want, add some cookies or other baked good... I received a few of these notes through the years, and I have kept all of them.....the other stuff is long gone!
Reply:well my teacher likes homemade cards from students
Reply:Buy Christmas mugs at the dollar store and fill with Christmas candies place in festive goody bags you get at a party store add a pretty bow.Add extra candies and cookies in the bag.
Reply:i made christmas orderments with my kids the teachers loved them I got christmas cookie cutters and tree hooks for the orderments I went on the internet and found a dough for baking for it. I put the hook in the orderment before I baked it when they came out and cooled I let the kids paint and decorating them i put there names and date on back also used for the family
Reply:I always give Christmas ornaments and candles. Things for the classroom are a great idea.... teachers supply most if not all of the things in the class. Simply attach a card to whatever you decide to get them telling them how much you appreciate what they do.
Reply:christmas ornament from Hallmark

basket or tin of homemade cookies or candy

tea cup with different flavors of tea

Whitman sampler

Lotion for hands

candles

bath gels from Bath and Body works

A huge bottle of Germ-X, I cannot have enough of it.....in my classroom

note to one of the answers below.....I don't put my ornaments that were given to me in a shoe box, I put them on the tree.....cheesey? not the ones I received....

Reply:Many teachers spend their own money on supplies they use in the classroom. As you know by buying supplies for your kids, they can add up. My suggestion would be to put together a small basket of assorted school supplies each teacher would likely use at school. They could be pencils, pens, glue sticks, crayons, post-it notes, etc. You can also include something a little more on the personal side such as a small picture frame. Use the frame for your holiday sentiment to make the basket special and personalized. This wouldn't cost much and the teachers would know you appreciate them and want to help make their jobs a little easier.
Reply:At some schools, a room mom or pta member gathers cash (about $10 apiece) from the participating families and buys gift cards (local mall) for the teacher. Otherwise, you could get a little GC (Target) for them, plants or Christmas ornament (if they celebrate Christmas).
Reply:picture frame, organizer, diaries, calendars
Reply:I would appreciate a hug more than any cheap gift you can buy!
Reply:candles, candle holders, home made jam put into pretty jars, bath salts, bath pearls, picture frames, pot pourri, flowers, chocolates, cupcakes, jewellery, keyrings, etc.
Reply:go and buy fruits and nuts in bulk at like Sam's Club or Costco- even wal mart. Also get a few bottles of sparkling apple cider, and maybe some chocolates. go to a crafts store- or wal mart and get baskets and cellophane and ribbon and make baskets with a little card inside or hanging from a ribbon. use your hair dryer to shrink the cellophane. you can make the baskets small or large.
Reply:A calender.
Reply:A nice travel mug %26amp; giftcard to a local coffee place. This will a nice treat for them to use in the cold months to come.
Reply:buy them school supplies for their classrooms (paper, ziplock freezer bags, markers, glue, etc) or books. I know a lot of teachers personally and they don't really like getting gifts for themselves. There are way too many and they end up getting thrown away. A lot of school districts require teachers buy supplies for their own classrooms, that can add up quite a bit in no time at all. They'll appreciate you helping them out.
