I wanted to give a small gift to all parties involved with my home purchase. Yes or no?

I got some great feedback from the community regarding whether or not to give a gift and someone reminded me that I will shelling out tons of money to all parties involved and that any gift would be too much. I should simply keep every dollar in my pocket.

I was planning on sending a fruit basket or something. But that will ultimately costs me money.

If you have ever given your realtor or mortgage broker a gift, what have you given them?

Hi,

I am a REALTOR and I would never expect my clients to give me a gift. I have made a commission on the sale and in most cases made a new friend....that is plenty. The best gift you could give your REALTOR and Mortgage Person is a referral to others...so that they have more business. In fact I am so thankful when my clients help me find new clients, I normally give them a gift.

Really if you like them so much...tell everyone you know how happy you were with them and give their business cards to everyone.

If you ask them for business cards so that you can give them to your friends and family....I promise you will see so much happiness in their eyes, you will know you have given them a gift back.

I am so glad you had such a wonderful experience.

Congrats on your new home!!!!
Reply:I like Maria's answer remember they make a commission on your home so they are doing it for the income that is their job however if someone really went way above then sure. I do Mary Kay and I actually get the opposite real estate companies purchase gifts for the new home owner and I hear this is not uncommon. They do welcome baskets or something else remember you will be referring them to friends and that will generate more business for them.
Reply:If you think your realtor went way above and beyond and there was a personal connection, go ahead. You don't have to spend a lot of money. Bake a couple dozen muffins (in your new kitchen) and drop them by the office.

It never hurts to be gracious.
