What is a unique gift for an uncle to get for his first nephew?

I am trying to come up with a unique gift idea for my boyfriend(and I) to give his nephew(who should be born sometime this week) when we go to the hospital when he is born. They have already had a baby shower so they already have all the basics.

What is a unique gift for an uncle to get for his first nephew?
Name a star after him. It's pretty cool. I did it for my daughter. They give you a map and everything to find it. Plus, he'll love it for show and tell when he start's school.

Check it out.

Reply:My brother got my son a pair of Nike shoes and they were the cutest thing ever he wore them everywhere.
Reply:For the first year I would get something that is personalized for the baby. Coin sets have the year of birth but silver plated or monogramed things are very popular. If you are really looking to spend a lot of $$$ supplement with a gift and a savings bond. Also remeber that there are a lot of practical things that the parents of the first child needs that you can put a really cool personal touch or twist on. Good Luck hopefully I steered you in the right direction.
Reply:GET HIM A SAVINGS BOND FOR COLLEGE.
Reply:A colostomy bag ?
Reply:A silver teething ring /rattle can be a very special gift. Silver is also antibacterial and antiviral. (Most jewlers will make these, even though they tend not to keep them on display, they should have a photo book of their work)

Or wait until the baby comes home and bring over food. Anything that can be eaten one handed is best. Or small freezer meals. Soups. Etc.
