What was the best baby gift you received?

I'm about to be a grandmother and I'd like to get my son and his wife a great gift. What was the one gift that turned out to be the best thing ever for your baby?

What was the best baby gift you received?
The Ocean Wonders Aquarium for the side of the crib and the Oceans Wonder bouncy seat by Fisher-Price. I can't begin to tell you how great these gifts were. My son is 3 and still turns on the aquarium to help himself fall asleep. If he could fit in the bouncy seat he would still be sitting in that too. In fact I'm going to a baby shower tomorrow and these were on her list so I got them for her. My sister-in-law and a friend have them also. The sounds and music are so soothing it would even help me fall asleep. My son was colicky and the bouncy seat also vibrates which I think helped him a lot or should I say helped me a lot. Congratulations and God Bless

I just got back from the baby shower and there were a few other mothers there that also have and love these products. Even if this is not what you choose to get them advise your son and his wife to get them or if someone else is wondering what to get for them suggest these.
Reply:Sounds and lights aquarium. It hooks on the crib and plays soothing music or ocean sounds, you can add light or bubbles and control the volume as well. I would have never bought it but an aunt did and wow it is the best for getting our youngest to sleep! I buy it for all teh showers I go to now.

My dad took me to babies r us and let me pick out whatever I wanted in the "big stuff" that was nice...if you can afford it maybe all the bedding stuff.

I say ask your son and his wife what they really really want and go with them to get it! Then if you are "crafty" make the baby a little something too that they can keep forever.

Congrats Grandma!
Reply:The furniture I picked out was purchased by the grandparents together. It saved us a bundle!
Reply:I didn't get this w/ my first pregnancy, but it would have been really nice...prepared meals
Reply:HIS CRIB THAT MY GRANDPARENTS BOUGHT
Reply:A regular supply of diapers, and a house cleaner once in a while! Completed dinners and babysitting were a REALLY nice bonus, too! Many things will be purchased or borrowed already, and an outfit just goes with the rest of the stuff, but the every week cost of diapers, and the exhaustion of new baby made those the best gifts! Oh, and a breast pump, but I'll wager your son won't be too impressed with that!
Reply:i do not have a baby yet!!
Reply:onzies, tons of onzies. you can never have enough of those, trust me.
Reply:somthing home made. Like quilt and blankets. they are the best!
Reply:something like a blanket w/ a monogram or last name w/ a gift card inside-- telling them to use it AFTER the baby is born. you never know what you really need until he/she is here %26amp; you dont have it!

Reply:The best gift is the one I recieved from my Mother-in-Law and her sister. A Graco Travel Crib. We use it all the time.
Reply:A stroller - a good one that lasted through 3 babies. I also received a baby bed and a mattress, a playpen (still being used), a dresser to put baby clothes into. I also received handmade items that I still treasure. One friend made me a baby blanket, another made me baby bibs (counted cross stitch).
Reply:the baby...

camera... you can take pictures of the baby
Reply:Savings bonds!
Reply:The best baby gift for me would have to be the cash so that I could get things for the baby that I was needing and forgot to ask for. I know it sounds weird. But there are so many things you forget to register for and with a new one its not likley your gonna have the cash to get it for yourself.
Reply:I have to say that I had my mom here at pretty much our disposal for the first 2 wks. I live three hours away from my immediate family, mom took two weeks off of work and returned just as soon as school was out. I had her on and off for about a month and a half for the summer. I could not have kept my sanity if it had not been for her. Lucky for me my husband and mom get along fantastically. If you live near by offer her your time and be helpful around the house. I think the other things I could not live without were the book Secrets of the Baby Whisperer by Tracy Hogg (read it before giving it to her as to be on the same page on how SHE wants to handle stuff), book The Happiest Baby on the Block by Dr. ... (can't remember), Dr. Browns Bottles %26amp; Dr. Smiths Diaper Cream. I am sure there was one or two more things but I think I covered the most important one's. Congratulations and Good Luck!
Reply:A candle that is from age 1 to 21 you burn every year on their birthday. My parents got one for me when I was little. We burned every year on my birthday and they took my picture with it. GREAT TRADITION!! I am now doing it with my daughter!!!
