What do you recommend for a gift to a young lady who is visiting Europe for the first time?

I have a friend who is travelling to Western Europe for her first time. I am not sure what holiday gifts to give in order to "enhance" her trip. She will be travelling by herself and she will be on a Contiki Tour. She will be there from mid-December to early January. I think she will likely visit the UK, France, etc.

What gift idea do you have? Thank you!

Suggestions: Digital camera with spare batteries and memory sticks, voltage convertors, a nice leather passport holder, a security pouch she can wear under her clothes, CASH, rent an international cell phone for her, a hair dryer in international voltage, CASH, Cash, CASH!!
Reply:a little book she could use as a travel journal :)

oh yes, and some cash for clothes, she will be tripping about our fashion *lol*
Reply:I would say a nice tour book, one that has a lot of pictures, but also with phrases and pronunciation. You could also give her a digital camera, one that connects easily to any computer without having to install it. Another idea could be some adapters for her hair "equipment" since it won't plug in there. A really nice coat would work it gets pretty cold. How about a travel scrapbook?
Reply:$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Reply:Do you know what I gave to my mum before she left for the pre-winter China trip? A trolley-type luggage. She found it useful, and so I recommend the same for your friend too!
Reply:A good digital camera to help her easily record all the wonderful experiences.

If you were thinking of spending a little less, then find a really nice journal and pen, so that she can keep a record of her thoughts and impressions. You can write something appropriate in the front.
Reply:an international electricity adapter plug set~

they don't have the same plugs in Europe as they do in the US.

this is perfect to charge up batteries, cell phones, or using the hairdryer.

can get at Target or Sharper Image
Reply:a multi-language dictionary
