What kind of gift jars can i give using cereal?
A twist on this is to make a savory crispy chicken coating using cornflakes, kind of like homemade super yummy shake n bake. I'm sure you could find a recipe on line.

If you do the sweet cereal bars, I would pack the marshmallows separate, since that's the way those recipes cook up.

I admire your resourcefulness!

Reply:Layer the cereal along with other ingredients to make snack bars. For Rice Krispies, you could layer them with mini marshmallows, raisins, chocolate chips, etc. Most of the boxes have recipes listed on the boxes. Just use the dry ingredients in the jar, and slip a copy of the recipe under the lid before you close it up.
Reply:Make Puppy Chow. It calls for Chex cereal - but you can use rice krispies of cornflakes instead. Delicious!!!

CHEX MIX PUPPY CHOW

9 cup Chex

1 cup chocolate chips

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup butter

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

1 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Put cereal in large bowl. Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

Pour over Chex cereal, put into a large plastic bag with powdered sugar and shake well to coat.

Spread mixture evenly on wax paper and allow to cool.
