How to wrap a Xmas gift like a professional?

Happy holidays, everyone. I am an above average gift wrapper, but I want to learn to wrap gifts like they do at the department stores. I am looking specifically for measuring paper for boxes, aligning the edge of the paper to the edge of the box, choosing the higher quality wrapping paper, creating ribbons, etc. Thanks!

Look for good quality wrapping paper. Some are even printed with a grid pattern on the wrong side to aid in cutting. Size your paper carefully, so you only have 1/2 inch or so of overlap. Make distinct and sharp creases. Use a good tape that will seal well and blend in.

And relax.....any sign of true effort always makes the package look better.
Reply:thicker paper is always nicer. There are different ways to make ribbons, which are usually rather easy. Taping the boxes shut so that the tape is not visible is always a nice touch.
Reply:sorry i don't know, as hard as try every gift I've ever wrapped has looked crap....unless its a book. so that's what everybody is getting for christmas this year.
Reply:If you're "an above average gift wrapper", then be happy with what you can do.
Reply:Put everything in bags with tissue paper.
Reply:give it to a proffesional
